Sofia Exarhou,our notary,was born in 𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚊 and graduated from the 3rd High School of Arta.She then went on to successfully complete her studies in
the National Kapodistrian University of Athens.During her studies she was an assistant to Professor of Constitutional Law ,Mr.Andreas Dimitropoulos,
specialising in the department of secretarial and research support.She started practicing Law in 1995 at the Court of First Instance in Arta.During
her practice,she was a legal advisor for the then “Bank of Macedonia Thrace” and the Financial Cooperative called “Artini Guarantee”
Mrs.Exarhou wasa member of the Obstacles Committee of the Land Registry during the first position of the local government in Arta.
Additionally,she taught Civil Law for a number of years at the department of Finance and Auditing of the School of Management and Economics in the TEI
of Epirus (its branch in Preveza),as well as Law of Unfair Competition in the Department of Teleinformatics and Administration of the TEI of Epirus.
In 2003 she was appointed a Notary in the District of the Magistrate’s Court of Arta and ever since she has been an active participant and even a
Vice President for the Notarian Association of the Court of Appeal in Ioannina.
Mrs.Exarhou is the custodian of the former Notaries’ of Arta Archives.She is also renowned for her intense social and voluntary action in all issues
pertaining to the modern era and the town of Arta.
That is highlighted by her election to the position of president of the association “Book Friends of Arta” and her participation as a member of the Board
for the regional branch of the Greek Red Cross.
Another worth mentioning activity is her participation in the Board of Directors for the Association of Volunteer Blood Donors of her hometown.Finally,
we must not forget her extreme love for animals and her role as one of the directors of the Animal Welfare Society of Arta.
She also supports the local branch of the Lyceum of Greek Women.
On top of all her volunteering work,Mrs.Exarhou also was the Commissioner of Administration for the Greek Scouts.
She is also a frequent contributor to local newspapers with articles pertaining to animal welfare and travel issues.
She is also a member of the Musicology Association “O Skoufas “
Sofia Exarhou is a fluent speaker of English,French and Italian and is a competent user of Spanish and Romanian.
